Our promise is in our name

At the tail end of a hectic summer, it’s tempting to give yourself – and your machines – a bit of a breather.

The summer crew have cleared out. The caravans have rolled on. And those non-stop loads of sandy towels, sweaty linens and spilled slushies are finally slowing down.

But while your laundry might be enjoying a quick moment of  calm, your machines are likely still feeling the strain.

If there’s ever a time to check in on them, it’s now!

Post-summer’s quiet reality check

Caravan parks, hotels, motels, laundromats – you name it – they all have their busy seasons. During these times, machines are pushed to their limits: running longer hours, handling heavier loads, and tackling the kind of mess only peak periods can bring.

All that use leaves a mark.

It might be minor – like a drain pump that’s clogging more quickly than usual – or it might be something deeper, like a suspension that’s starting to give out or a dryer element that’s not quite heating like it used to.

Some issues show themselves straight away. Others bubble away quietly until they decide to break. Often at the worst possible time!

What we see when servicing gets skipped

We’ve been around long enough to know what happens when regular maintenance gets pushed to the bottom of the list. You get through a busy season, think “She’ll be right,” and then out of nowhere… bang! Something goes wrong.

Here’s what we see when machines go too long without proper servicing:

  • Wash cycles start slowing down: What should be a 30-minute cycle starts creeping up to 40, even 50. You lose time. You lose capacity. And in a laundromat or busy hotel, that’s a major headache for the whole team .
  • Breakdowns become more likely, and more expensive: When little issues go unchecked, they snowball. A worn belt becomes a busted motor. A leaky hose becomes a full-blown flooding issue. And suddenly, you’re shelling out for emergency repairs or even a replacement you didn’t plan for.
  • Downtime hits hard: Whether it’s a holiday park with 20 sets of sheets waiting to be washed, or a mining site with nowhere to clean uniforms, breakdowns don’t just cost money, they cause chaos!
  • Your gear doesn’t last as long: Like anything mechanical, the lifespan of a machine is tied to how well you look after it. Skipping regular servicing can cut years off the life of your equipment – which means shelling out for new machines sooner than you’d like.

In short, the hidden costs of neglect add up. Slowly at first, then all at once.

So, how often should you really service your laundry equipment?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but here’s a rough guide for commercial setups:

  • Daily or weekly checks – filters, lint traps, coin catches and basic visual inspections. These are your frontline.
  • Monthly to quarterly servicing – belts, hoses, suspension, bearings, heating elements. The deeper stuff.
  • Annual inspections -to catch wear and tear before it turns into a replacement.

If you’re running laundry equipment hard (like many have during peak periods!), your commercial laundry equipment maintenance schedule might need tightening. A machine that’s dealt with hundreds of kilos of damp towels probably deserves a bit more than a pat on the back.

Now’s the time!

Right now – in the lull between summer chaos and winter rush – is a great moment to schedule that overdue service.

You’re not reacting to a problem. You’re staying ahead of it.

Because in our experience, the most expensive repair is the one you didn’t see coming.
